Heavy Truck Air Suspension Components
Air suspension is a suspension structure that uses air springs to connect. The biggest feature of air suspension is the elastic connection between the body part and the axle part. Air suspension not only effectively transmits the force and moment between the vehicle body and the axle, but also can buffer the reverse impact of the road surface on the vehicle body, thereby improving the vehicle's handling stability, smoothness and comfort.
The air suspension system is mainly composed of thrust rod assembly (guide mechanism), air bag assembly (elastic element), shock absorber assembly (damping element), height control system, etc. Among them, the air suspension of heavy-duty cargo tractors must also add a transverse stabilizer bar assembly (stability device)
Air spring: The spring action of the air spring is realized through the action of compressed air in the air chamber. Air springs can play a better elastic role in the suspension. The stiffness of the air spring is variable with changes in load, working conditions, etc., so it can obtain more reasonable elastic characteristics in actual use. Compared with the traditional leaf spring structure, the air spring mainly has the following advantages. On the one hand, the stiffness of the air spring is variable. Its stiffness can become larger as the load mass increases, and it is a continuous gradient. The increase process, and the stiffness change of the leaf spring is graded: second, it is highly adjustable. The air spring can extend or compress as the air pressure in the air bag changes, so that the height of the frame or body can be adjusted.
The air spring for heavy-duty truck air suspension mainly consists of the following parts: cover plate, rubber gas, piston, limit block (rubber buffer block), etc. The rubber gas is vulcanized from the inner and outer surface rubber, cord layer and steel wire. The requirements for the inner surface rubber are mainly to seal the gas inside the airbag, and there should be no defects such as air leakage and insufficient pressure holding.
