Truck Cab Air Spring Installation Guide
Park the truck on a flat surface, tighten the handbrake, and secure the wheels with wheel chocks.
Disconnect the vehicle power supply (such as disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery) to avoid accidental starting.
Wear protective equipment such as goggles and gloves.
Use a jack to slowly jack up the designated support points at the bottom of the cab to ensure stability.
Secure the cab with a safety bracket (such as a horse stool) to avoid relying solely on the jack.
Exhaust operation: Find the air pipe joint of the air spring, slowly disconnect and release the internal air pressure.
Remove the fixing bolts: Use a socket wrench or impact wrench to loosen the bolts at the upper and lower mounting points first. If rusted, spray loosening agent to assist.
Remove the old shock absorber and check whether the surrounding parts are worn or damaged.
Check the model of the new shock absorber and check whether the air bag has cracks or leaks.
Align the shock absorber to the installation position, insert the bolts but do not tighten them yet.
Tighten the bolts step by step with a torque wrench according to the manufacturer's specified torque (refer to the manual) (usually fix the frame end first, then the cab end).
Clean the air pipe interface to ensure that there is no dust. Connect the air pipe according to the original path and check whether the sealing ring is intact.
If sealing is required, use special sealant (to avoid ordinary tape blocking the pipeline).
Restore the vehicle power supply and start the engine to inflate the air system.
Observe whether the shock absorber expands evenly and apply soapy water to the interface to check for leaks.
Measure the height of the cab and adjust the air pressure to the standard value (refer to the vehicle manual).
After removing the support, conduct a short-distance test drive to test the shock absorption effect and abnormal noise.
