Working Principle of Bus Suspension Airbag
When the vehicle is stationary, the airbag is filled with air at a certain pressure to support the vehicle body at a set height.
When passengers get on the bus (load increases), the vehicle body sinks.
The height valve senses the sinking, opens the air intake channel, and compressed air enters the airbag from the air tank. The airbag expands and lifts the vehicle body until it returns to the set height, and then the height valve closes.
When passengers get off the bus (load decreases), the vehicle body rises.
The height valve senses the rise, opens the exhaust channel, and part of the air in the airbag is discharged. The vehicle body drops to the set height, and the height valve closes.
When encountering bumps during driving, the airbag compresses to absorb the impact energy and then rebounds. The shock absorber is responsible for quickly attenuating the reciprocating vibration of the airbag.
Common Faults of Bus Suspension Airbags
Broken, bulged, or leaking airbags. |
Aging and cracking of airbag rubber. |
Mechanical failure of height valve (stuck, worn) or damage to induction link. |
Leaking, blocked, or loose joints in air line. |
Faulty solenoid valve (if equipped). |
Abnormal vehicle height (one side high, one side low, overall too low or too high). |
