W01-358-7444 Firestone Airide Double Convoluted Air Spring 22-1.5 Style Air Cushion
Product Description
Rubber air springs, commonly known as pneumatic tubes, corrugated air tubes, and airbags, are precision-engineered rubber fiber bellows that don't inherently provide force or support loads. Instead, they transfer force and provide elasticity by filling them with compressed air via an air compressor. Depending on the required travel, air springs are typically designed with one to three curves, but can be manufactured with four or more curves if needed. Under certain conditions, two air springs can even be stacked.

Basic Air Spring Parameters
Medium: Air springs can be filled with compressed air, ammonia, or water. If water is used, an anti-rust layer must be added to protect the end caps.
Advantages of Liquid-Filled Air Springs
- It reduces the volume of the gas inside the air spring, thereby increasing the air spring's natural frequency.
- Because water is an incompressible medium, accurate positioning is possible.
Operating Specifications
Temperature: The operating temperature range of our standard industrial air springs is -40°C to +60°C.
Pressure:
- Based on our experience, the maximum operating pressure for standard air springs is 0.7 MPa.
- The maximum operating pressure for high-strength (four-layer carcass) air springs is 1.25 MPa.
We recommend a safety factor of 2.5 times between the maximum internal air pressure and the burst pressure. So, for example, if a pressure of 0.7 MPa is required, the burst pressure should be 1.75 MPa or greater. The burst pressure of a convoluted air spring decreases with increasing height. Therefore, there are two determining factors: the maximum height of extension, and what is the internal pressure at that point?
